Welcome

“It is in the order to really see, to see ever deeper, ever more intensely, hence to be fully aware and alive, that I draw what the Chinese call ‘The Ten Thousand Things’ around me. Drawing is the discipline by which I constantly rediscover the world.

I have learned that what I have not drawn, I have never really seen, and that when I start drawing an ordinary thing, I realize how extraordinary it is”.

(Frederick Franck, ‘The Zen of Seeing’).

44-47 Digital Sketches

Sketching video frames from 'Remember the Night', a 1940 film starring Fred McMurray & Barbara Stanwyck. It also has Sterling Holloway singing the song 'A Perfect Day'(who was the voice of Winnie the Pooh). Great film.

43a- Watercolour

This is a scan of the original watercolour before I started to add black pen and coloured pencil and to be honest, I think I prefer this one. It was a good exercise working with 'real' media for a change and I'm hoping to do a lot more. It's weird not being able to press undo and I missed the ability to colour pick at the click of a mouse button.
