Welcome

“It is in the order to really see, to see ever deeper, ever more intensely, hence to be fully aware and alive, that I draw what the Chinese call ‘The Ten Thousand Things’ around me. Drawing is the discipline by which I constantly rediscover the world.

I have learned that what I have not drawn, I have never really seen, and that when I start drawing an ordinary thing, I realize how extraordinary it is”.

(Frederick Franck, ‘The Zen of Seeing’).

A series of studies/exercises using acrylics shown from the bottom in the order they were painted. It's a new medium for me so it's early days but I'm really keen to practice and improve. Whilst I like the idea of tackling small 'manageable' subjects, things that don't take too long but give the opportunity to learn and explore, I am desperate to have a go at a 'proper' picture. Judging by my early attempts its probably best that I carry on with the studies for the moment.
